Compaq Computer Company was established in 1982 by Rod Canion, Jim Harris and Bill Murto. The three senior managers resigned their jobs and left Texas Instruments. The first product produced was the portable personal computer. Compaq Computer Corporation then became part of Hewlett-Packard Company on May 3, 2002,and was Ranked No. 1 vendor in Linux server market.

The Compaq Corporation concentrated on the portable personal computers. It was a very great success. The company also produced various products related to the computers. They introduced the world's first broadband-ready Internet PCs with Pinacor, Inc. The Compaq produces Color printer and Inkjet cartridges also. Compaq inkjet printers are very popular.
